Deals and Steals

Okay, so I really want the new iPhone.  What most people don't realize is there's no reason to pay for it.  So many promotions out there that will give it to you for FREE!  I just signed up for this and maybe you should too...

Can't wait for my upgrade!

The Power of Thought

I believe that there are no universal truths.  I believe the nature of reality is relative and that whatever we believe is real, is real.  I love existential discussions and thinking about how we can change the world with our minds.  Am I crazy?

The Kybalion is one of my favorite books.  Have you read it?

I love indigenous thought.  Eastern philosophy.  Metaphysics.  Life and all its possibilities.

Gorgeous Wood

While I tend to love modern clean lines.  I also love some earthy wood furniture.  I'm thinking about studying furniture design or industrial design.  We'll see.  Can't do everything.  So far I've created my own art but not furniture.  It's possible.  Have you made furniture before?

Imagine making something like this yourself.

I'm back!!!

I was on a roll with this blog a few months ago but I had to take a break to enjoy my summer.

My summer was quite a whirlwind.  Deaths.  Marriages.  Engagements.  My life has truly changed in a matter of months and now I'm back to my writing.

Life is good folks.  And I'm grateful.   As autumn approaches I hope to increase my blog posts and get back to sharing the quiet life.  I may even write more personal stories in the future.  We'll see.

Quiet Life. Spanish style.

Today I'm escaping to Ampurda Spain.  These beautiful photos from photographer Jordi Canosa.  I relax just looking at them.  A simple, calm, understated home.  Can I live here please?

Looks like the perfect place for lunch with friends and family.

I love this canopy bed.  Just gorgeous!

Beautiful stone walls and wooden beams.

A nice warm kitchen.  I love the red Spanish tile.

Einstein Knows Best

The Quiet Life

Some inspiring photos from photographer Yougo Jeberg.  Very cool.

I want to start taking more photos again.  Photography was one of my first passions.  I'm so glad I lived in a time when photographers still used film.  As a child and a teen I spent hour after hour in the dark room.  I loved it.  In college I spent hours cutting and splicing 16mm film on a steenbeck.

So glad to be a young adult during the turn of the century.  A little bit of the past, a little bit of the future.  I love digital but the ritual of film is something all its own.  My kids will probably never know it and so it's something I treasure.

I love Southern California

I love my little So-Cal city.  Life here is so chill.  I took a walk to the beach Friday afternoon and took some pics to share with you.  I'm up to my eyeballs in work these days, deadlines etc.   So taking a nice walk to unwind in the evening is the just what I need to stay present and clear my mind.

Freedom Friday -- Take A Walk

It's quitting time.  I'll work over the weekend but for now, I'm off to take a walk.  I love my little So-Cal city.  It's so pretty and laid back.  I think I'll stroll to the beach, have a look around and maybe take some pics that I can post for you later.

To me freedom means time for leisure.  Time of my own, to just be.

So much...

A lot has been going on with me lately.  Lots of work, deadlines and I continue to get frustrated with how slow my progress seems to be.  I definitely thought I'd be a lot further in life than I am.  Heck, at the beginning of the week I thought I'd be a lot further with my work than I am today.  I'm hard on myself, beat myself up and then I feel like giving up...

And then I remind myself of this:

And then I take a break, go browse around Target, buy some wine from Trader Joe's.

Then I open my laptop and continue my work.  I continue perfecting my passion.  And it feels good.

Quiet modern. Clean Style.

My two favorite design styles are Scandinavian design and modern design.  I differentiate them between them because although they share many elements they are not the same.  They're both clean and calming and that's what I like about them.

I don't know about you but I can look at interior design photos all day.  This is a gorgeous modern house in Miami, designed by Dkor Interiors
